Research of the Chair of Underground Construction 2003-2025 dealt with the classic rock pressure theories (squeezing rocks, swelling rocks), stability and deformation issues of TBMs in rock or soft ground, and geotechnical auxiliary measures (forepoling and face reinforcement, grouting in geological fault zones, artificial ground freezing, drainage). We developed advanced numerical methods, analytical solutions for several problems, models for coupled processes and demanding experimental techniques.
